Can you hear me now? Good.

When chatting online, you sometimes need to convey complicated emotions that aren't easily expressed through words. Emoticons typically handle that problem pretty well, but still, there are some sentiments that mere images can't do full justice.
Enter stage left, Audibles!
Audibles are essentially animated, audiofied emoticons that express specific ideas in amusing ways. You can get to them by clicking the lips button on your Yahoo! Messenger conversation window:

There are literally hundreds of usefully categorized Audibles options, which you can queue up in your Recently Used Audibles list for easy access (if you, like me, need to use the phrase "Ohhhhh snap!" roughly 20 or 30 times a day). Not only that, there are sets of region-specific Audibles for our international users.
And, of course, the best feature, as mentioned in that earlier post by JR: if you don't like 'em, you can turn them off from within the Messenger preferences. ^__^

I love the Indic audibles, they’ve taken famous dialogues from popular vernacular movies.

Yeah, sorry I didn\’t include more detail about the Audibles from the India site, Sundar; I couldn\’t understand them, so, you know, kind of hard to write much. :P

During the World Cup we had a “GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAALLL” audible that was 13 seconds long. It was great :)

@Sean: Not a problem, I understand the difficulty. I’ll probably write a post on them when there’s an official inauguration. :)
