Events Worth a Thousand Words

Shamelessly poaching from the Upcoming news page, I wanted to highlight some of the multitude of cool features that the Upcoming.org team rolled out a few days ago. JR mentioned the general existence of said updates in his Flickr map post, but I figure they deserve a bit more attention.
The one that really caught my eye was the Flickr integration. Cool things happen at events, cool picturesque things, and if you already have a very stylish page devoted to that event, there's no reason that you shouldn't be able to beautify it with event photos as well. You can see an example of this on the event page for this random German concert, which has been prettied up by the addition of photos of one of the bands. It's all achieved by adding a special Upcoming tag to any of your public photos, provided if you click on the Add link in the Photos section. Simple and fun!

For actual upcoming (as in, "happening in the future", not "mentioned on Upcoming.org") events, this is a great way to provide some context for the event by showing pictures of the venue, the featured performers, or past instances of the event. I also think that it will add a lot of utility to the Past Events, letting you go back through events that you attended and photographically relive the memories.
I suppose we'll have to buy out the domain "past.org" if we want to start focusing on that, though.
