Y!Go

No, it's not Yahoo!'s version of an ancient Japanese board game, or a "inexpensively" built "car" from a fractured country, Yahoo! Go is our new portable version of Yahoo.

This is something that's actually pretty cool. I downloaded the TV version some time ago. It runs on a little XP client I have tucked in behind my media boxes, and it does a great job of doing the stuff i want it to do. It plays my Launchcast station, shows Flickr pictures, gives me my headlines and weather. (What's more, rumor has it they're going to be pushing a new version out sometime tonight.) It's a nice, simple interface that's perfect for someone who doesn't want to mess around with computers can figure out.

But more than just putting Yahoo in your living room, if you've got a Nokia phone or one that runs Windows Mobile, you can download a free version of Y!Go for your phone. Now you'll have Yahoo! in your pocket AND be glad to see someone. While the phones than run this are currently pretty limited, I understand that they're working to make more platforms available. (Sadly, for me, Treo 650s and Blackberrys aren't among that list yet.)

Yahoo!? Yes, you're soaking in it.
