Ok, there's a certain level of pride in this next one.
A few years ago, for quite a few years, I worked with the folks in Travel. One of the ideas that we had kicked around as engineers was the idea of letting folks build up trips that they could save. The Lead Engineer finally decided that it was too good an idea to let gather dust, so he created a "skunk-works" project to build the very first version of Y!Travel Trips. Needless to say, it was an idea that really caught on.
This is one of those services that you don't really realize you need until you find yourself really using it. What's more, they're constantly adding new features to it so even if you've checked it out in the past, chances are there's a bunch of new stuff you don't know about now.
In a nutshell, if you're planning a getaway, plan on poking around an old town, or even just planning a shopping trip, it's a great resource to play with. All brought to you lovingly by a bunch of folks that just wanted to get the product out there.
Focus group need not apply.
