800 Numbers are free

Just got word from the Y!Messenger folks that 1-800-*, 1-888-*, 1-877-*, and 1-866-* numbers are now really, truely, honestly free, and will work that way from anywhere in the world.

So, sitting in Bangladesh and want to screw with the folks at 1-800-MATTRESS? Feel free to do so. (Ok, no, don't really do that. I'm kidding.)

By the way, while this obviously isn't hard to do technically, there's an amazing amount of wrangling one must do with various TelCos in order to get things like this working. Congratulations to the fine folks in Y!Messenger for getting those deals done and launching this.

I believe JR means that it’s free to CALL 800 numbers from within Y! Messenger, not to get 800 numbers. But maybe I’m just misunderstanding what you’re asking. :)
