Sharing the Love

So, folks that frequent Y!DN probably already know this (and about Chuck's upcoming book), but chances are, you're not THAT obsessive.
So if you haven't heard, they're using Krugle to provide code search. "But Wait!" I hear you say (particularly from a comment on the announcement post), "Aren't you a search engine?"
Well, yeah, we are, amongst other things. Still, that doesn't mean that we're the only search engine. Granted, I wasn't involved in the decision (obviously) but knowing the folks who were, I think it's pretty obvious why they did it instead of limiting things to our own dog-food. The folks at Krugle are doing a pretty spiffy job of indexing code, including lots of code we didn't develop. Also, folks are adding code to their index all the time. Instead of spinning our wheels trying to find all of it and having people wonder if we're not including theirs for various conspiracy theories, it was just simpler to work with those guys. Plus, we get to shine a bit of attention on a some folks that deserve it. Sounds like a win all the way around.
Like I said, that's all personal speculation, and for all I know the real reason is that the Krugle guys showed up yesterday with cookies and beer.
Still, it's a pretty spiffy engine and it saved us some work. I figure it'll do the same for you too.
