Everything in Moderation

I was glancing over this post on the Yahoo! Groups Team Blog and I was struck by the exemplary quality of the comments left by users: well reasoned, lengthy, constructive, and even composed using complete sentences, which is a rarity these days. I suppose it makes sense that users who moderate their own communities through Yahoo! Groups would have picked up a few habits that make them valuable to any other community in which they participate.
So, it's a fantastic thing that we're trying to provide these users with extra support through the Moderator Central, built specifically for moderators and owners of Yahoo! Groups (as you might have guessed from the name). It consolidates a ton of handy resources for moderators onto a single site -- Answers about Groups, Groups message boards, blog posts from the Groups team, Flickr group photos, and Group tutorials to get you started -- and hopefully also gives Group moderators better transparency into what the Groups team is trying to do, better access to the Groups team to provide feedback, and the impetus to get together and help each other (or just get to know some other cool community leaders). See the Y! Groups Team blog post on the subject here.
Given how much users like these have contributed to Yahoo! as a whole, it's good to see us giving them a bit of extra love in return.
