Collectible

Flickr recently unveiled Collections, apparently one of the most requested Flickr features that I had never thought to request. Just goes to show that I'm not much of a power user. But still, I think I can grasp the utility: Collections allow you to add hierarchy to the organization of your photos, letting you group together common sets of pictures in a single location instead of having them randomly spread out over the old flat file structure where no one can find 'em. For instance, I had a ton of sets related to my college dorm that were cluttering up my Flickr; now I've got them conveniently consolidated in a single collection to provide better organization on my end and easier accessibility for, you know, the throngs of people who want to see my 2-year-old photos.

(and that's photos that are two years old, not photos of my 2-year-old)

And, of course, now that you have two ways to organize your photos, you ought to have at least two ways to display 'em to people visiting your page. Towards that end, Flickr introduced a bunch of different page layouts to give you a chance to customize things a bit better. Expect FlickrSpace any day now.
