Your Maps on Our Maps

Pardon me while I hyperventilate.
When I first saw this hack done at one of our Hack days, I was absolutely floored. What some clever folks did was allow you to overlay your own maps ontop of existing Y!Maps. No, not draw them, I'm saying that you can take a scan of a map that you got from that nice Park Ranger when you went in and layer it on top of Y!Maps. The Local and Maps blog has more details, but let me just say that this is an amazingly fast roll out, and a lot of the really amazing features haven't been fully rolled out yet like the ability for you to upload your own map images, but I do expect them to be. Granted, I understand, since I can just imagine what folks would overlay for the Grand Tetons.
For me, this is fantastic. I know the folks that built this worked really hard on it and they deserve a lot of well earned praise.

Hey! Just wanted to drop by and say we are glad to see that you liked our hack and the recently released Travel Guides integration. It was a challenging engineering effort, but we are excited about the results and future possibilities. You can be sure we are still working on the product and trying as soon as possible to roll out new features. Thanks!
