Some people just love doing things Old School.
I can understand that. There's a lot of appeal, particularly when it comes to a great deal of the flashier Web 2.0.1 stuff out there. It's pretty, but sometimes you want to skip the eye-candy and go straight to the meat.
That's where things like Premshree's UpcomingFS hack really shines.
Why bother with having to start a GUI, open up a browser and bother with all that point and click nonsense when you can say mount New Jersey and do a directory listing for all the fun stuff happening in Hoboken this weekend?
Yeah, ok, so this probably appeals more to the sorts of folks who generally wouldn't be using something like Upcoming.org to begin with, but it's still a VERY clever use of the free APIs we make available.
