Yahoo! Cool Thing of the Day

Oops, and now I've missed one. But it's right on theme -- you'll also notice something missing from the bottom of all of your emails sent from Yahoo! Mail. That's right, the tagline advertisements have been removed, which coincidentally also removes one of the features that's always annoyed me most about Yahoo! Mail. I'm sure that getting word out about all of our products was huge in terms of directing users to more of our sites, but it seems like that benefit was far outweighed by the intrusiveness of sticking advertisements on personal emails, and I'm glad that we were able to make this decision to put our users first and our advertisements not at all.
